I also like SGU, but seriously, that’s the ending you’re going to give us. That’s the cliffhanger. That’s not a cliffhanger, that’s annoying, and there’s a difference.

I liked when they seemed bold enough as writers to kill people off, people I cared about. But, then there’s some resolution. There’s no resolution here, just “impossible odds” and “how will they get out of this pickle?” The point being that we know they will get out of the pickle. How many people that I care about have they killed off? None.

I don’t really dislike any of the characters, I just feel like they could be written better. Camille is poorly underwritten and basically serves to be a pain in the a## in situations that “realistically” she wouldn’t be involved in.

“We belong to a society where the military is controlled by civilians.” says Camille.

“We belong to a society where television should have better writing than SGU.” says I.

And I only say that because I like the show, the premise, and it’s occasionally self-referential witticisms. Some of the writing is fun.

If I didn’t like it, I would say f##k this and not even watch it. But seriously, just because it’s sci-fi and inherently not real doesn’t mean the writing needs to be dishonest.

A real fan

Are you aware of the current perceptions about Stargate Universe, and how it has divided the Stargate fanbase…well, not devided, more like alienated it. Stargate Universe could have been a great addition to the Stargate franchise, but instead it is destroying it. Delete this comment if you want, I am not a troll. But the lack of excitement for this show is not your fault. There are a small number of people like yourself who actually like the show, so have your joy and enjoy the show. I will have my joy when its canceled.

I have been a Stargate fan since the beginning going back to the original movie. SG-1 while a bit different from the original was and continues to be a huge success. Atlantis was a great sequel to SG-1 and like most fans I miss it. SG-U is not of the same caliber as the originals and is far too dark with no real favorites coming forth. There seems to be no Jacks, Sams,Daniels, Teal’c, etc. Some of the SG-U characters might emerge as fan favorites but as yet have not. The constant flash-backs or flash-forwards make no sense nor do the presumed conferences with Jack despite the fact that no communications exist.
Maybe during one of those conferences, they could mention that they are lost. Despite what we would like it to be, the show far more closely resembles Battlestar Gallactica than Stargate and that I find unappealing. If the show doesn’t make it many long term fans will be disappointed

Come on SyFy lighten up a bit and make the show more like the the original and stop trying to be
cutting edge.
