A Stargate Universe Fan Site
Stargate Universe Fan has been waiting patiently, but the wait is almost over
So, I’ve been biding my time this summer. I haven’t forgotten about Stargate Universe, but since keeping up with the news just made it impossible for me to be patient, I have avoided a lot of the buildup to the show. You might be able to imagine my pleasant surprise when I realized my birthday is almost here and just two days before that date, on October 2nd, Stargate Universe premieres! … "Stargate Universe Fan has been waiting patiently, but the wait is almost over" continues >
Watch the Stargate Universe trailer called Philosophical
The latest trailer for Stargate Universe is something I found on YouTube. I’ve yet to see this one playing on Syfy, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. Frankly, I can’t wait to see a longer, more complete trailer on my TV screen. But for now, this will have to do. Click through the more link to watch. … "Watch the Stargate Universe trailer called Philosophical" continues >
Why isn’t the floor demolished when the stargate kawooshes?
Sometimes, I can’t get over it. This is one of those times.
I’ve just seen the images for the new gate that’ll be in Stargate Universe and immediately was struck by the continuation of a “bug” in the design that’s bothered me for years.
Why isn’t the floor demolished when the stargate kawooshes?
In fact, how can the gate form a wormhole at all if the wormhole is supposed to appear in the circle of the gate?

Comic-Con t-shirt for Stargate Universe (2009)
I just received an email saying there’s going to be an exclusive Stargate Comic-Con 2009 Adult T-Shirt that you can buy at MGMStore.com, but only through 8/21/09. After that, you’ll be out of luck.
Debuting at San Diego Comic-Con 2009, this Stargate Universe adult t-shirt is available for a limited time only! Highlighting the much anticipated new show, the center of the black t-shirt has "SGU: Stargate Universe" printed inside a Stargate. Below the Stargate, "Comic-Con 2009" is listed amid rows of scrolling text of planet names, ending on the last line, "Where will destiny take you?". Buy your shirt today–you won’t be able to buy this shirt after 8/21/09! Available in adult sizes.
One thing I especially liked is that this can be gift-boxed and shipped in the U.S. and internationally. So I can give them to my friends!
And of course, “destiny” is the name of the ancient ship everyone is stuck on in Stargate Universe.

Stargate Universe, “A very different kind of show?”
More news about the “feel” of Stargate Universe. I cannot tell you how nervous I am about the premiere of this show. On the one hand, I’m very excited to see the universe expand and for Stargate to keep going. On the other, I worry about the stark differences I’ve been hearing about in the news between this Stargate and previous Stargate series. … "Stargate Universe, “A very different kind of show?”" continues >
Will Stargate Universe stay true to Stargate as we know it?
I was hanging around Joseph Mallozzi’s blog again when I found a comment he’d made when asked if Stargate Universe was going to be “a remake of Battlestar Galactica through the prism of Stargate?”
His answer excited me.
Given the premise of the series, it will be darker and more serialized than SG-1 or Atlantis. That said, there will still be plenty of opportunities for humor and the series will be firmly rooted in established Stargate mythology. Yes, the series will focus on survival, but it will also focus on exploration and adventure – and, by extension, the occasional alien encounter as well.
I feel a huge amount of relief to know that the humor I so love the Stargate series for is still going to be around, even though they’ve attempted to update the series for a younger audience. I hate to tell them, but as a representative of the fans of Stargate, I’m not getting any younger but I am ready for something fresh and new, but which stays true to established Stargate mythology. Maybe they’ll stay away from the ascended beings for a while, though. That’s still one of my most hated plot directions Stargate SG-1 ever took.

Personally, I can already see the modernization attempts in the new font they’re using for the logo. Very clean, very cool, and I love it.
I do have hopes that Stargate Universe will stay true to Stargate as I know it, but I also can’t wait to see what new things the writers, producers, directors, and characters will bring to the show.
What hopes do you have?
Finally, a decent Stargate Universe trailer!
Wow. I’m not sure what to think, but I liked the frantic feel of this teaser clip! I’m not gonna pretend though. They could have done a much better job with this. I hope they release another trailer soon, because I’d like to actually be able to see the characters…
Here it is, the much too dark trailer.
Stargate Universe premiere date hinted at
In a recent press release from MGM, SCI FI Channel has said that it expects Stargate Universe to premiere in October 2009. Earlier it was expected that SGU would be a summer show, but this new information puts that premiere off by several months’ time.
As an avid Stargate fan, I was disappointed to read this, because I already miss Stargate Atlantis. I guess I have no choice but to persevere and wait impatiently for more news. :-)
